What we do

OAPC is recognized as the authoritative voice of the asphalt producing industry in the province of Ontario.
OAPC's vision: Dedicated to Excellence in Asphalt Pavements
OAPC promotes excellence in asphalt product quality and paving techniques through the following initiatives:



OAPC’s Annual Fall Asphalt Seminar - North America’s largest one-day paving-only seminars attracting approximately 500 people comprised of members, municipal representatives, MTO and consulting engineers.
OAPC’s Annual Spring Operations Seminar - A one-day paving seminar and demonstration for members focusing on cutting-edge technologies that are improving the quality and efficiency of paving work in Ontario. 
OAPC’s Annual Road Tour Seminars – Designed to offer members across the province to meet owners and specifiers and discuss ways to continue to improve Ontario's number one choice in pavement … asphalt.
OAPC provides instruction courses at several conferences.
OAPC also offers Technology Transfer Workshops, Webinars and Lunch and Learns to members and industry stakeholders.


Partnership & Collaboration

OAPC is active in joint initiatives in R&D with municipal and provincial road owners and other industry associations to foster innovation and share best practices.
OAPC/OGRA Municipal Liaison Committee - This committee works to addresses HMA issues specific to municipal stakeholders.
The Asphalt Institute (AI) – OAPC has a unique partnership with North America’s largest and most influential source of asphalt research and technical resources. 
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) – OAPC is a partner with the FHWA in a cooperative research study for improving Longitudinal Joints. 
Transportation Association of Canada – OAPC participates in the Pavements Standing Committee, and Soils and Materials Standing Committee. 
Local Colleges - OAPC ROADS SCHOLARS PROGRAM partners with six colleges from diverse regions across Ontario, providing the annual Roads Scholarships to top students in respective trades programs and inviting students to attend the Spring Operations Seminar for free to network with industry leaders and employers. Partner Colleges are: Fleming College, Conestoga College, Centennial College, Georgian College, Canadore College and Algonquin College.

OAPC has invested in various R&D projects over the years including:
Funding for the Centre for Pavement & Transportation Technology (CPATT) / University of Waterloo
CPATT Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) study
OHMPA/MTO Life Cycle Costing (LCC) Studies
