Plans for graduation and award ceremonies and celebrations have been curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the OAPC Roads Scholarship program continues to award $1,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate exemplary leadership within their respective programs and who express an interest in the asphalt paving industry. Scholarship recipients are selected by our partner colleges which include Algonquin, Canadore, Centennial, Conestoga, Georgian and Fleming Colleges.
“I chose this program to gain skills that I can use in the construction industry and additionally in my military endeavours as a reservist combat engineers. I found the program very enjoyable and I learned a lot of useful skills. Being able to spend every day outdoors and learn hands-on made for a fantastic college experience. I hope to continue to work in the construction field and gain more experience and equipment time. I am thrilled and grateful to receive this award and I have put it towards supplies and school expenses.”
